Retreat Calendar

Opportunities to step out of ‘business as usual’ are rare in this day and age, but a silent meditation retreat offers just that. A chance to rest the body heart and mind from the rigours of day to day demands and to settle into the wisdom and intelligence of the body. The benefits of meditation are far reaching and well known.  When we combine this with spending time in a community of like minded people, following simple precepts of good will and maintaining a silent practice container it has a profound effect on our wellbeing and understanding. Not to mention being nourished by delicious vegetarian meals and surrounded by peaceful natural surrounds.

Immersive meditation and closeness to the Buddha's teachings, the dharma, creates the best possible conditions for deep insights to arise and for us to connect, first hand, with this extraordinary experience of being human. For a moment, we can put down the burden of our swirling conceptual mind-scape and just be, just be and breath and feel the joy imbued in the interconnectedness of all things.

As Basho tells us:

Sitting quietly,
Doing nothing,
Spring comes,
And the grass grows by itself.

Sitting a retreat is giving yourself that time and space to sit quietly and do nothing. In a world dominated by consumerism, opinion and striving this is a radical act indeed. All retreats are suitable for beginning and experienced meditators.
