The Middle Way: nine-day silent meditation retreat
In his first formal discourse the Buddha introduced the middle way as the central theme of his teaching. The middle way is not mere moderation, but the dynamic recognition that there is no fixed position in our experience, nowhere we can land and nothing we can cling to. This teaching points to both freedom from clinging and our opening to universal love and compassion. These are the themes we will explore in our retreat.
Over the days we will weave our way between stillness and movement, practice workshops, dharma talks, and quiet time in the wild natural setting of Dorje Ling retreat centre, nestled in beautiful and secluded Lorinna Valley in the heart of Tasmania.
The retreat will be held in silence, with opportunity for discussion and questions each day, and personal interviews with the teachers. The retreat is suitable for beginning and more experienced meditators.
