The Way of Direct Expereince - A nine-day silent meditation retreat with Louise Taylor
The Way of Direct Expereince, a nine-day silent meditation retreat with Louise Taylor
Friday 1st - Sunday 10th January 2027
Dorje Ling Retreat Centre, Lorinna Tasmania
We are sentient beings, intimately interwoven with the suchness of life, and yet, all too often, we find ourselves living in a world of thought, ideas, and concepts, mistaking them for reality.
When the Buddha taught, he did not ask us to believe, but to practice — to cultivate awareness and to know for ourselves.
When we keep choosing and remembering intimacy with experience, the deep teachings of the dharma begin to illuminate themselves, not as concepts, but as something directly lived and recognised. We begin to see the fluid, conditioned nature of experience, loosening clinging and opening naturally into freedom, compassion, and care.
These are the themes we will explore together during this retreat. Over the days we will weave our way between stillness and movement, practice workshops, dharma talks, and nature immersion in the wild natural setting of Dorje Ling Retreat Centre, nestled in the beautiful and secluded Lorinna Valley in the heart of Tasmania.
The retreat will be held in silence, with opportunity for discussion and questions each day, and personal interviews with the teacher. The retreat is suitable for both beginning and more experienced meditators.
